Kepler-722 and Its Two Neptune-Like Worlds

Kepler-722 is a star located 4040 light-years away, and two planets have been found orbiting it. The host star is 4.37 billion years old, holds 1.03 solar masses, spans 1.05 solar radii, and has a temperature of 5860 K. Both of its planets were discovered by the transit method in 2016, which detects the slight dip in a star's brightness when a planet crosses in front of it.

Kepler-722 b is a Neptune-like planet that completes one orbit in 4.09 days and has a radius of 2.63 Earth radii. Kepler-722 c is also Neptune-like, with an orbital period of 105 days and a radius of 2.82 Earth radii. Among the listed planets, Kepler-722 b has the shortest year and the smallest radius by reported estimates, while Kepler-722 c has the longest year and the largest radius by reported estimates.
