Kepler-698 and Its Neptune-Like Planet

Kepler-698 is a star located 6510 light-years away. It has a reported age of 4.27 billion years, a mass of 0.94 solar masses, a radius of 0.91 solar radii, and a temperature of 5610 K. The star's reported mass estimate is smaller than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's. One planet orbits this host.

That planet is Kepler-698 b, a Neptune-like world discovered by transit in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-698 b has an orbital period of 16.3 days and a radius of 3.68 Earth radii. Its reported radius estimate is larger than Earth's.
