Kepler-670 and Its Jupiter-Like Planet

Kepler-670 is a star located 3070 light-years away, with a single planet known to orbit it. The host star is 4.79 billion years old and has a mass of 0.99 solar masses, a radius of 0.99 solar radii, and a temperature of 5710 K. Its one known planet, Kepler-670 b, was discovered in 2016 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness.

Kepler-670 b is a Jupiter-like planet, a size class for worlds whose radius exceeds 4 times Earth's. Its radius is 13.2 Earth radii, so its reported radius estimate is larger than Earth's. It completes an orbit every 2.82 days.
