Kepler-644 and Its Neptune-Like Planet

Kepler-644 is a star 4300 light-years away with one known planet. The host star is 1.62 billion years old, has a mass of 1.49 solar masses, a radius of 1.81 solar radii, and a temperature of 6750 K. Its reported mass and radius estimates are larger than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is hotter than the Sun's. Solar masses and radii compare stellar mass and radius with the Sun.

The planet Kepler-644 b is Neptune-like, a size class that reaches 4 times Earth's radius. It was discovered by transit in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-644 b has an orbital period of 3.17 days and a radius of 3.15 Earth radii, which is larger than Earth's. Earth radii compare radius, not volume, and an orbital period is the time a planet takes to complete one orbit.
