Kepler-608 and Its Neptune-Like Planet

Kepler-608 is a star located 3090 light-years away, and it hosts one known planet. The star is 3.8 billion years old, has a mass of 1 solar masses, a radius of 1.01 solar radii, and a temperature of 5820 K.

The planet, Kepler-608 b, was discovered in 2016 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-608 b is Neptune-like, a size class that reaches 4 times Earth's radius. Its radius is 3.64 Earth radii, and its reported radius estimate is larger than Earth's. The planet completes an orbit every 6.41 days.
