Kepler-591 and Its Neptune-like Planet

Kepler-591 is a star located 2560 light-years away. It has 0.97 solar masses, 0.94 solar radii, and a temperature of 5680 K, which is cooler than the Sun's. The star is 4.17 billion years old. One planet is known to orbit it.

That planet, Kepler-591 b, is a Neptune-like world discovered by transit in 2016. It completes one orbit every 81.2 days and has a radius of 3.39 Earth radii, larger than Earth's.

A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness.
