Kepler-541 and Its Neptune-Like Planet

Kepler-541 is a star located 3460 light-years away, and it hosts one known planet. The star is 3.09 billion years old, has a mass of 1.41 solar masses, and a radius of 2.06 solar radii. Its temperature is 6170 K, and its reported mass, radius, and temperature are all larger or hotter than the Sun's.

The system's only known planet is Kepler-541 b, a Neptune-like world discovered by the transit method in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness; repeated dips help establish orbital periods. Kepler-541 b completes an orbit every 5.08 days, and its radius is 3.36 Earth radii, which is larger than Earth's.
