Kepler-511 and Its Two Planets

Kepler-511 is a star 2130 light-years away with two planets in its system. The host star is 7.94 billion years old and has a mass of 1 solar masses and a radius of 1.2 solar radii, larger than the Sun's. Its temperature is 5770 K.

Both planets were found by the transit method, which detects the small dip in a star's brightness when a planet crosses in front of it. Kepler-511 b was discovered in 2016 and is Jupiter-like, with a radius of 6.35 Earth radii and an orbital period of 297 days. Kepler-511 c was discovered in 2021, also Jupiter-like, with a radius of 4.21 Earth radii and an orbital period of 26.6 days.

Among the listed planets, Kepler-511 b has the largest radius by reported estimates and the longest year, while Kepler-511 c has the smallest radius and the shortest year. Both planets' reported radius estimates are larger than Earth's.
