Kepler-499 and Its Super-Earth

Kepler-499 is a single-star system 1820 light-years away. Its star has a mass of 0.87 solar masses and a radius of 0.83 solar radii, both smaller than the Sun's, and a temperature of 5310 K, cooler than the Sun's. Its age is 4.57 billion years. One planet is known to orbit this host.

That planet is Kepler-499 b, a Super-Earth discovered by transit in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. The planet's radius of 2.17 Earth radii is larger than Earth's, and its orbital period is 5.63 days.
