Kepler-439 and Its Super-Earth

Kepler-439 is a star located 2470 light-years away, and it hosts one known planet. The star is estimated to be 7.2 billion years old, with a mass of 0.884 solar masses and a radius of 0.866 solar radii. Its reported temperature is 5430 K. Compared with the Sun, Kepler-439 is less massive, smaller, and cooler.

The planet Kepler-439 b was discovered in 2015 by the transit method, in which a planet passing in front of its star from our viewpoint causes a small dip in observed brightness. It is classified as a Super-Earth, a size class that reaches 2.5 times Earth's radius. Kepler-439 b has an orbital period of 178 days - the time it takes to complete one orbit - and a radius of 2.24 Earth radii, which is larger than Earth's radius.
