Kepler-370 and Its Two Planets

Kepler-370 is a single star located 3810 light-years away. The star has a mass of 0.98 solar masses, a radius of 0.96 solar radii, and a temperature of 5700 K. Its age is 4.47 billion years. Two planets orbit this host.

Both planets were discovered in 2014 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. Repeated dips help establish orbital periods. Kepler-370 b is a Super-Earth with an orbital period of 4.58 days and a radius of 1.59 Earth radii. Kepler-370 c is also a Super-Earth, with an orbital period of 19 days and a radius of 1.91 Earth radii.

Among the listed planets, Kepler-370 b has the shortest year, and Kepler-370 c has the longest year. Kepler-370 b has the smallest radius, while Kepler-370 c has the largest radius at 1.91 Earth radii.
