Kepler-345 is a star with two known planets, Kepler-345 b and Kepler-345 c. Both were found by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness; repeated dips help establish orbital periods. The star is 2.75 billion years old and has a mass of 0.72 solar masses, a radius of 0.68 solar radii, and a temperature of 4520 K.
Kepler-345 b is a Sub-Earth, meaning its radius is smaller than Earth's. Its radius is 0.74 Earth radii, and it completes an orbit in 7.42 days. Kepler-345 c is an Earth-like planet, a size class that stays within 1.5 times Earth's radius. Its radius is 1.2 Earth radii, and its orbital period is 9.39 days. Both planets were discovered in 2014.
Among the listed planets, Kepler-345 b has the shortest year and the smallest radius by reported estimates, while Kepler-345 c has the longest year and the largest radius by reported estimates. The star's reported mass and radius estimates are smaller than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's.
