Kepler-236 and Its Two Super-Earths

Kepler-236 is an M1 V star, a small, cool red dwarf, hosting two planets. The star is 942 light-years away and is 3.16 billion years old. Its mass is smaller than the Sun's at 0.58 solar masses, its radius is smaller than the Sun's at 0.56 solar radii, and its temperature is cooler than the Sun's at 3930 K.

Both planets were discovered by transit in 2014. Kepler-236 b is a Super-Earth with a radius of 1.57 Earth radii, larger than Earth's, and an orbital period of 8.3 days. Kepler-236 c is also a Super-Earth, with a radius of 2 Earth radii, larger than Earth's, and an orbital period of 24 days. Among the listed planets, Kepler-236 b has the shortest year by reported estimates, while Kepler-236 c has the longest. Kepler-236 b also has the smallest radius by reported estimates, and Kepler-236 c has the largest.
