Kepler-1968 and Its Lone Known Planet

Kepler-1968 is a star 2450 light-years away with a mass of 0.845 solar masses, a radius of 0.787 solar radii, and a temperature of 5010 K, making it smaller, less massive, and cooler than the Sun. One planet is known to orbit it.

That planet, Kepler-1968 b, is a Super-Earth discovered by transit in 2021. It completes an orbit in 7.28 days and has a radius of 1.5 Earth radii, larger than Earth's. A transit is a planet's passage in front of its star as seen from our viewpoint, producing a small dip in brightness that, when repeated, helps establish the orbital period.
