Kepler-1956 and Its Earth-Like Planet

Kepler-1956 is a single known star located 1180 light-years away, with one planet orbiting it. The host star has a mass of 0.671 solar masses, which is smaller than the Sun's, and a radius of 0.682 solar radii, also smaller than the Sun's. Its temperature of 4390 K is cooler than the Sun's.

The system's only planet, Kepler-1956 b, is an Earth-like world, a size class that stays within 1.5 times Earth's radius. It was discovered by the transit method in 2021, when the planet passed in front of its star from our viewpoint and caused a small dip in observed brightness. Its radius measures 1.09 Earth radii, larger than Earth's, and it completes one orbit every 5.94 days.
