Kepler-1926 b: A Super-Earth in Transit

Kepler-1926 is a star located 2180 light-years from Earth. It has a reported mass estimate of 0.768 solar masses, a radius of 0.832 solar radii, and a temperature of 5260 K. Its mass estimate is smaller than the Sun's, and its temperature is cooler than the Sun's.

One planet orbits this star: Kepler-1926 b. It was discovered in 2021 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. Repeated dips help establish orbital periods.

Kepler-1926 b is classified as a Super-Earth, a size class reaching 2.5 times Earth's radius. Its radius is 2.31 Earth radii, larger than Earth's. It completes an orbit every 42.9 days. Among the measured properties, its size and orbital period are the most precisely constrained, while its mass remains undetermined.
