Kepler-1840 and Its Neptune-like Planet

Kepler-1840 is a star 1670 light-years away. Its reported mass estimate is 0.75 solar masses, its reported radius estimate is 0.774 solar radii, and its reported temperature is 4680 K - all smaller or cooler than the Sun's corresponding values. One planet has been found orbiting this host.

That planet, Kepler-1840 b, is Neptune-like, a size class reaching up to four times Earth's radius. Its reported radius estimate is 2.78 Earth radii, larger than Earth's. It was discovered by transit in 2021, when the planet passed in front of its star from our viewpoint and caused a small dip in observed brightness; repeated dips helped establish its orbital period of 131 days.
