Kepler-1838 b: A Super-Earth Orbiting Kepler-1838

Kepler-1838 is a star located 1470 light-years from Earth. It has a mass of 1.12 solar masses, a radius of 1.7 solar radii, and a temperature of 6030 K. Its reported mass and radius estimates are larger than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is hotter than the Sun's. One known planet orbits this star.

That planet is Kepler-1838 b, a Super-Earth discovered in 2021 by the transit method. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-1838 b completes an orbit every 12.1 days. Its radius is 1.66 Earth radii, an estimate larger than Earth's radius.
