Kepler-1829 b: A Super-Earth in a Close Orbit

Kepler-1829 is a single-star system 2220 light-years away. Its star has a reported mass of 0.869 solar masses, a radius of 0.781 solar radii, and a temperature of 5230 K. The star's reported mass estimate is smaller than the Sun's, its reported radius estimate is smaller than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's. This system hosts one known planet.

Kepler-1829 b is a Super-Earth discovered by the transit method in 2021. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-1829 b completes an orbit in 5.19 days and has a radius of 2.48 Earth radii, which is larger than Earth's. As a Super-Earth, its size class reaches up to 2.5 times Earth's radius.
