Kepler-1802 and Its Two Super-Earths

Kepler-1802 is a star 2080 light-years away with two known planets, both classified as Super-Earths and both discovered by transit in 2021. The host star has a reported mass estimate of 0.619 solar masses, a reported radius estimate of 0.608 solar radii, and a temperature of 4140 K, making it less massive, smaller, and cooler than the Sun.

Kepler-1802 b orbits every 15.5 days and has a reported radius estimate of 1.67 Earth radii, larger than Earth's. Kepler-1802 c orbits every 33.1 days and has a reported radius estimate of 2.32 Earth radii, also larger than Earth's. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness; repeated dips help establish orbital periods. Among the listed planets, Kepler-1802 b has the shortest year and the smallest radius by reported estimates, while Kepler-1802 c has the longest year and the largest radius by reported estimates.
