Kepler-1767 b: A Neptune-Like World Around a Cool Dwarf Star

Kepler-1767 is a star located 2680 light-years away. It has a reported mass of 0.88 solar masses and a reported radius of 0.698 solar radii. Its reported temperature is 5170 K. The star's reported mass estimate is smaller than the Sun's, its reported radius estimate is smaller than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's. One planet is known to orbit this star.

That planet, Kepler-1767 b, was discovered in 2021 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. It is classified as Neptune-like, a size class that reaches up to 4 times Earth's radius. Kepler-1767 b has a reported radius of 3.01 Earth radii, larger than Earth's, and an orbital period of 59.7 days.
