Kepler-1746 and Its Lone Planet

Kepler-1746 is a star 3190 light-years away. It has 1.22 solar masses and 1.5 solar radii, and its temperature is 6270 K, so its reported mass estimate, radius estimate, and temperature are each larger and hotter than the Sun's. One planet is known to orbit this star.

That planet, Kepler-1746 b, was found by transit in 2021. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-1746 b's orbital period is 321 days, and its radius is 8.94 Earth radii, larger than Earth's. At more than four times Earth's radius, it falls into the Jupiter-like size class, which compares radius rather than composition.
