Kepler-1723 and Its Neptune-like Planet

Kepler-1723 is a star 2650 light-years away with one known planet. The star has a mass of 1.01 solar masses and a radius of 1.08 solar radii, both larger than the Sun's, and a temperature of 5670 K.

The planet, Kepler-1723 b, was discovered in 2021 by the transit method, in which a planet passing in front of its star from our viewpoint causes a small dip in observed brightness. Repeated dips help establish orbital periods, and this planet's orbital period is 39.8 days. Its radius is 2.88 Earth radii, larger than Earth's. That size places it in the Neptune-like class, which extends to 4 times Earth's radius.
