Kepler-1698 and Its Earth-Sized Planet

Kepler-1698 is a single-star system 725 light-years away. The host star has a mass of 0.822 solar masses and a radius of 0.742 solar radii, making it smaller than the Sun in both respects. Its temperature of 4980 K is cooler than the Sun's. One planet orbits this star.

That planet is Kepler-1698 b, discovered by the transit method in 2020. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-1698 b has an orbital period of 1.21 days, so it completes one orbit in just over a day. Its radius is 1.07 Earth radii, slightly larger than Earth's. With an Earth-like size classification, it falls within 1.5 times Earth's radius.
