Kepler-1697: A Cool Dwarf with a Single Known Planet

Kepler-1697 is a star located 808 light-years away, and it is known to host one planet. The star's reported mass estimate is 0.747 solar masses, smaller than the Sun's, and its reported radius estimate is 0.772 solar radii, also smaller than the Sun's. Its reported temperature of 4680 K is cooler than the Sun's.

The one planet orbiting Kepler-1697 is Kepler-1697 b, an Earth-like planet discovered in 2020 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. Repeated dips help establish orbital periods, and Kepler-1697 b completes one orbit every 33.5 days. Its radius is 1.26 Earth radii, larger than Earth's.
