Kepler-168 is a star located 4380 light-years away. It is 2.29 billion years old, with a mass of 1.3 solar masses and a radius of 1.48 solar radii. Its temperature is 6360 K, and its reported mass, radius, and temperature estimates are all larger or hotter than the Sun's. Two planets are known to orbit this host.
Kepler-168 b and Kepler-168 c were both discovered by transit in 2014. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-168 b is an Earth-like planet with an orbital period of 4.43 days and a radius of 1.46 Earth radii. Among the listed planets, it has the shortest year and the smallest radius by reported estimates. Kepler-168 c is a Neptune-like planet with an orbital period of 13.2 days and a radius of 2.69 Earth radii. Its reported radius estimate is larger than Earth's, and among the listed planets it has the longest year and the largest radius by reported estimates.
