Kepler-1642 and Its Two Known Planets

Kepler-1642 is a star 1350 light-years away with two planets orbiting it. The host star is 4.47 billion years old and has a mass of 0.88 solar masses, a radius of 0.84 solar radii, and a temperature of 5360 K. Its mass, radius, and temperature are all lower than the Sun's corresponding values.

The two planets are Kepler-1642 b and Kepler-1642 c. Both are Neptune-like planets discovered by transit in 2016. Kepler-1642 b has an orbital period of 12.2 days and a radius of 3.2 Earth radii, making it the largest and longest-period planet among the listed planets. Kepler-1642 c has an orbital period of 6.65 days and a radius of 2.66 Earth radii, making it the smallest and shortest-period planet among the listed planets. Both planets have radii larger than Earth's.
