Kepler-1634 and Its Neptune-like Planet

Kepler-1634 is a star 2010 light-years away with one known planet in orbit. The host star is 4.47 billion years old and has a mass of 0.92 solar masses, a radius of 0.89 solar radii, and a temperature of 5470 K. Its mass and radius are smaller than the Sun's, and its temperature is cooler than the Sun's.

The planet, Kepler-1634 b, was discovered by transit in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-1634 b has an orbital period of 375 days, the time it takes to complete one orbit. Its radius is 3.19 Earth radii, larger than Earth's. That radius places it among Neptune-like planets, a size class reaching 4 times Earth's radius; the class describes size, not composition.
