Kepler-1633 b: A Super-Earth in Transit

Kepler-1633 is a star located 3640 light-years away, and it hosts one known planet. The star is 2.82 billion years old, with a mass of 1.2 solar masses and a radius of 1.32 solar radii. Its temperature is 6260 K. The star's reported mass and radius estimates are larger than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is hotter than the Sun's.

The planet Kepler-1633 b was discovered by transit in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-1633 b is classified as a Super-Earth, a size class that reaches 2.5 times Earth's radius. Its radius is 1.58 Earth radii, larger than Earth's, and its orbital period is 186 days.
