Kepler-1625 and Its Planet

Kepler-1625 is a star 7530 light-years away with one known planet. The host star is 4.37 billion years old and has a mass of 0.96 solar masses, a radius of 0.94 solar radii, and a temperature of 5680 K.

The planet, Kepler-1625 b, was discovered by transit in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-1625 b is a Jupiter-like planet, a size class that exceeds 4 times Earth's radius; its radius is 6.06 Earth radii, larger than Earth's. It completes an orbit every 287 days.
