Kepler-1624 and Its Jupiter-like Planet

Kepler-1624 is a small, cool red dwarf star of spectral type M V. It lies 845 light-years away and hosts one known planet. The star's reported mass estimate is 0.541 solar masses, its reported radius estimate is 0.552 solar radii, and its reported temperature is 3770 K, all smaller or cooler than the corresponding solar values.

The sole planet, Kepler-1624 b, is classified as Jupiter-like, a size class for planets whose radius exceeds 4 times Earth's. Its reported radius estimate is 6.59 Earth radii, larger than Earth's. It was discovered by the transit method in 2016, when it passed in front of its star from our viewpoint, dimming the observed brightness. Its orbital period is 3.29 days, the time it takes to complete one orbit.
