Kepler-1611 b: A Sub-Earth in a Close Orbit

Kepler-1611 is a star located 2960 light-years away. It is 5.01 billion years old, has a mass of 0.94 solar masses, a radius of 0.93 solar radii, and a temperature of 5610 K. Its reported mass estimate is smaller than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's. One planet is known to orbit this host.

That planet is Kepler-1611 b, discovered in 2016 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-1611 b orbits every 5.18 days and has a radius of 0.81 Earth radii. Its reported radius estimate is smaller than Earth's, placing it in the Sub-Earth size class, which compares radius with Earth's.
