Kepler-1607 and Its Sub-Earth Planet

Kepler-1607 is a star located 4190 light-years away. It has one known planet. The host star is 3.16 billion years old, has a mass of 1.14 solar masses, a radius of 1.21 solar radii, and a temperature of 6120 K. Its reported mass and radius estimates are larger than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is hotter than the Sun's.

The planet is Kepler-1607 b, a Sub-Earth discovered by transit in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-1607 b orbits with a period of 13.6 days and has a radius of 0.92 Earth radii, placing it below Earth's size class.
