Kepler-1585 and Its Super-Earth

Kepler-1585 is a star located 3080 light-years from Earth, with a single planet known to orbit it. The host star is 4.37 billion years old and has a mass of 0.94 solar masses, a radius of 0.91 solar radii, and a temperature of 5540 K. Its reported mass estimate is smaller than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's.

The one known planet, Kepler-1585 b, is classified as a Super-Earth, meaning its radius reaches up to 2.5 times Earth's radius. It was discovered in 2016 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness; repeated dips help establish orbital periods. Kepler-1585 b has a radius of 1.79 Earth radii, larger than Earth's, and an orbital period of 3.58 days.
