Kepler-1550 and Its Neptune-Like Planet

Kepler-1550 is a star 3850 light-years away with a mass of 1.07 solar masses, a radius of 1.11 solar radii, and a temperature of 5990 K, which is hotter than the Sun. Its age is 3.55 billion years. One planet is known to orbit this host.

That planet is Kepler-1550 b, a Neptune-like world discovered in 2016 by the transit method, in which a planet crosses in front of its star and causes a small dip in observed brightness. Repeated dips help establish orbital periods. Kepler-1550 b completes an orbit every 226 days, and its radius of 3.02 Earth radii is larger than Earth's.
