Kepler-1513: A Sun-Like Star and Its Two Worlds

Kepler-1513 is a star located 1,140 light-years away. It is a G V star, a main-sequence dwarf of the same temperature class as the Sun, with a reported temperature of 5,490 K that is cooler than the Sun's. Its mass estimate is 0.943 solar masses, smaller than the Sun's, and its radius is 0.95 solar radii. The star's age is 7 billion years. Two planets orbit this host.

Kepler-1513 b is a Jupiter-like planet, meaning its radius exceeds four times Earth's. Its radius is 8.59 Earth radii, larger than Earth's, and its mass is 48.3 Earth masses, larger than Earth's. Its mean density is 0.419 g/cm³, 0.0761 times Earth's. It completes an orbit in 161 days and was discovered by transit in 2016.

Kepler-1513 c has a mass of 84.5 Earth masses, larger than Earth's. It orbits every 841 days and was discovered in 2023 through transit timing variations, a method in which slight shifts in the timing of a transiting planet's dips reveal the gravitational influence of another body.

Among the listed planets, Kepler-1513 b has the shortest year by reported estimates at 161 days and the smallest reported mass at 48.3 Earth masses. Kepler-1513 c has the longest year by reported estimates at 841 days and the largest reported mass at 84.5 Earth masses.
