Kepler-1503 b: A Super-Earth in a Distant System

Kepler-1503 is a star located 4000 light-years from Earth. It hosts one known planet. The star is estimated to be 5.13 billion years old, with a mass of 0.77 solar masses and a radius of 0.74 solar radii. Its temperature is 5070 K. Its mass and radius are smaller than the Sun's, and its temperature is cooler than the Sun's.

The planet, Kepler-1503 b, is classified as a Super-Earth and was discovered in 2016 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-1503 b orbits once every 96.2 days and has a radius of 2.27 Earth radii, which is larger than Earth's.
