Kepler-1501 and Its Super-Earth

Kepler-1501 is a star located 2440 light-years from Earth, and it hosts one known planet. The star is 2.75 billion years old, with a mass of 1.2 solar masses, a radius of 1.3 solar radii, and a temperature of 6230 K. Its reported mass and radius estimates are larger than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is hotter than the Sun's.

The planet Kepler-1501 b is a Super-Earth discovered in 2016 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. It orbits every 14.6 days. Its radius of 1.56 Earth radii is larger than Earth's, placing it within the size class that reaches up to 2.5 times Earth's radius.
