Kepler-1486 and Its Super-Earth

Kepler-1486 is a star 5770 light-years away. It has one known planet, Kepler-1486 b. The host star is 3.55 billion years old and has a mass of 1.08 solar masses, which is larger than the Sun's. Its radius is 1.12 solar radii, and its temperature is 5970 K, hotter than the Sun's.

Kepler-1486 b was discovered by transit in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. The planet is a Super-Earth, a size class that reaches 2.5 times Earth's radius, and its radius is 2.32 Earth radii, larger than Earth's. It completes one orbit every 54.6 days.
