Kepler-1452 b: A Neptune-like World in a Distant System

Kepler-1452 is a single-star system located 3250 light-years from Earth. The host star is 3.24 billion years old, with a mass of 1.41 solar masses and a radius of 2.06 solar radii. Its temperature is 6100 K. The star's reported mass estimate is larger than the Sun's, its radius estimate is larger than the Sun's, and its temperature is hotter than the Sun's. One known planet orbits this star.

That planet is Kepler-1452 b, a Neptune-like world discovered in 2016 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-1452 b completes an orbit every 42.9 days. Its radius is 2.7 Earth radii, which is larger than Earth's radius.
