Kepler-1416 and Its Sub-Earth Planet

Kepler-1416 is a star located 3100 light-years from Earth. It hosts one known planet. The host star is 2.95 billion years old and has a mass of 1.09 solar masses, a radius of 1.15 solar radii, and a temperature of 6020 K.

The planet is named Kepler-1416 b. It is a Sub-Earth, a size class for planets smaller than Earth. It was discovered in 2016 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star and causes a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-1416 b completes an orbit every 1.5 days and has a radius of 0.88 Earth radii.
