Kepler-1414 and Its Lone Planet

Kepler-1414 is a star located 1860 light-years away, and it hosts one known planet. The star is estimated to be 4.68 billion years old, with a mass of 0.8 solar masses and a radius of 0.75 solar radii, making it smaller and less massive than the Sun. Its temperature of 4950 K is also cooler than the Sun's.

The single planet orbiting this star is Kepler-1414 b, discovered in 2016 by the transit method. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-1414 b completes one orbit every 3.52 days, and its radius of 1.23 Earth radii is larger than Earth's. This measurement places it within the Earth-like size class, which covers planets up to 1.5 times Earth's radius.
