Kepler-1413 and Its Super-Earth

Kepler-1413 is a star 3810 light-years away with one known planet. The host star is 4.68 billion years old and has a mass of 0.84 solar masses and a radius of 0.8 solar radii. Its temperature is 5200 K. The star's reported mass estimate is smaller than the Sun's, and its reported radius estimate is also smaller than the Sun's. The star's reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's.

The planet Kepler-1413 b is a Super-Earth, a size class that extends to 2.5 times Earth's radius. It was discovered in 2016 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. Repeated dips help establish orbital periods. Kepler-1413 b orbits its star every 13.2 days and has a radius of 1.82 Earth radii. Its reported radius estimate is larger than Earth's.
