Kepler-1381 b: A Super-Earth in Transit

Kepler-1381 is a star located 3900 light-years away. It has one planet, a Super-Earth named Kepler-1381 b. The host star is 4.07 billion years old and has a mass of 0.96 solar masses, a radius of 0.94 solar radii, and a temperature of 5750 K. Solar masses and radii compare stellar mass and radius with the Sun.

Kepler-1381 b was discovered in 2016 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness; repeated dips help establish orbital periods. The planet orbits every 25.4 days. Its radius is 2.25 Earth radii, larger than Earth's, and its size class reaches 2.5 times Earth's radius. Earth radii compare radius, not volume.
