Kepler-1379 and Its Single Known Planet

Kepler-1379 is a star located 3,170 light-years away. It is 5.01 billion years old, with a mass of 0.83 solar masses, a radius of 0.79 solar radii, and a temperature of 5190 K. Its mass and radius are each smaller than the Sun's, and its temperature is cooler than the Sun's.

One planet is known to orbit Kepler-1379. Kepler-1379 b was discovered in 2016 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. Repeated dips help establish the planet's orbital period, which is 0.882 days. Its radius is 1.3 Earth radii, larger than Earth's, and it is classified as Earth-like, a size class for planets within 1.5 times Earth's radius.
