Kepler-1351 b: A Sub-Earth World

Kepler-1351 is a star located 661 light-years away, and it hosts one planet. The star is estimated to be 4.17 billion years old, with a mass of 0.7 solar masses and a radius of 0.67 solar radii. Its temperature is 4440 K, making it cooler than the Sun, and both its mass and radius estimates are smaller than the Sun's.

The planet, Kepler-1351 b, was discovered in 2016 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. Repeated dips help establish orbital periods. Kepler-1351 b completes an orbit every 0.916 days. Its radius is 0.65 Earth radii, smaller than Earth's, and it is classified as a Sub-Earth, a size class for planets smaller than Earth.
