Kepler-1308 and Its Sub-Earth Planet

Kepler-1308 is a star located 368 light-years away. It has an age of 3.72 billion years, a mass of 0.35 solar masses, a radius of 0.34 solar radii, and a temperature of 3470 K. Its mass, radius, and temperature are all smaller or cooler than the Sun's corresponding values. One known planet orbits this host.

That planet is Kepler-1308 b, a Sub-Earth discovered by transit in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, producing a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-1308 b has an orbital period of 2.1 days and a radius of 0.52 Earth radii. Its size class reflects that its radius is smaller than Earth's.
