Kepler-1307 and Its Super-Earth

Kepler-1307 is a star 3310 light-years away with one known planet. The star is 4.07 billion years old and has a mass of 1.06 solar masses, a radius of 1.08 solar radii, and a temperature of 5880 K, which is hotter than the Sun. Its planet, Kepler-1307 b, was discovered by transit in 2016, when it passed in front of the star and caused a small dip in observed brightness. Repeated dips help establish orbital periods, and this planet’s period is 18 days. Kepler-1307 b is classified as a Super-Earth, a size class that reaches 2.5 times Earth's radius. Its radius is 2.47 Earth radii, larger than Earth’s.
