Kepler-1270 and Its Neptune-Like Planet

Kepler-1270 is a single star located 3570 light-years away, and one planet orbits it. The star is 4.37 billion years old, with a mass of 1.28 solar masses and a radius of 3.38 solar radii. Its temperature is 5050 K, cooler than the Sun, while its mass and radius are larger than the Sun's.

The planet, Kepler-1270 b, was discovered in 2016 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. It is Neptune-like, a size class that reaches 4 times Earth's radius. Kepler-1270 b has a radius of 3.32 Earth radii, larger than Earth's, and an orbital period of 6.03 days.
