Kepler-1267 and Its Neptune-Like Planet

Kepler-1267 is a star 4500 light-years away with one known planet. The host star is estimated to be 3.24 billion years old, with a mass of 1.15 solar masses and a radius of 1.2 solar radii. Its temperature is 6100 K, hotter than the Sun, and both its reported mass and radius estimates are larger than the Sun's.

The planet Kepler-1267 b was discovered by transit in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-1267 b completes an orbit every 13 days. Its radius of 3.01 Earth radii is larger than Earth's and places it among the Neptune-like planets, whose radii reach up to four times Earth's.
